How to Train a Rottweiler Dog
It should not surprise you that it is not an easy task learning how to train a Rottweiler, the majestic, sleek, and very energetic German hunting dog that can push many owners to a corner wondering how they would get the job done.
There are no special rules or guidelines in order to train a Rottweiler that would differ too much from training techniques used for other dogs. If there is a strong alpha leader present, socializing is done early, and the dog is trained in basic obedience, the task becomes easier.
Puppy Training A Rottweiler
The first task you should be involved in when a Rottweiler puppy comes home is to ensure that the process of interaction and socialization is completed begin developing the puppy’s behavior.
When puppies are between eight and 14 weeks, the development stage begins where they learn to interact with other dogs, learn to react properly with people, and understand why they should not bite. This stage of fear imprinting also begins during this period.
In other words, a puppy left at home is likely to be scared of loud noises. If there is no one to attend to its needs, it will be scared, full of anxiety, and could become aggressive stock
Nevertheless, taking the dog to dog parks will help it to mingle with other puppies, become better oriented with your friends and family, and help adjust with the family cat. These natural instincts will stay with the puppy as it grows older.
Besides socialization, the puppy must be used to crate training as soon as it can be left for a few hours without supervision. The natural instinct of the dog is to keep the crate clean. However, if the house is very large, the dog would lose its sense of outdoor versus indoor.
When a crate is provided to the puppy, it gets its own private space that is safe and clean. Begin training in short durations and then slowly extend the time devoted to training. For example, the puppy gets used to be left alone for a few hours. After a few positive tries, the puppy can be left in its create overnight.

Clicker And Obedience Training Techniques
Several methods are used while learning how to train a Rottweiler, but clicker and obedience training are the easiest techniques to learn. Begin basic obedience training in the Rottweiler is 12 weeks old. This is when the puppy is old enough to understand of command and follow it while an imprint is left in its mind.
At his impressionable age, the puppy learns the fastest, and the household members understand how consistently get the dog to follow instructions. Teaching the Rottweiler not to enter the kitchen, climb on furniture, sit on the bed, or beg for food in a bold and calm manner will allow you to set the limits.
If you want to teach the dog and initial set of commands, initiate clicker training. The instructions may include speak, sit, stay, or fetch. Some are casual commands; however, several commands are meant to make the dog feel safe, which will be evident when leash training is initiated.
Continuing Training When The Dog Is Older
Continuous training of the dog includes spending quality time with it and maintaining a consistent attitude towards it. If the Rottweiler is over two years old, dog owners can use the same methods as indicated above; nevertheless, they need to be more patient with the dog and project a stronger alpha personality.
In all probability, you have failed to establish an alpha personality with the dog either due to lack of time or were not confident enough. Once your dog understands that you are in command, learning how to train a Rottweiler becomes a much easier task, and the dog will follow your instructions always.
